Broiler Cage Systems
Little Giant offers broiler cage systems with single-feed, dual-feed and automatic harvesting designs for commercial poultry farms. Compare the available models by feeding arrangement, bird handling method and equipment configuration, then discuss a layout based on your poultry house dimensions, planned flock size and target market weight.
Technical Specifications and Capacity
Use the same dimensional and live-weight basis when comparing broiler cage systems. Capacity per cage should be distinguished from capacity per tier, complete set or poultry house.

Equipment Configuration for Your Broiler House
A broiler house runs as one coordinated system — feeding, drinking, manure removal and environmental control all need to work on the same schedule to keep birds growing on target. Little Giant's 4100 and 4140 broiler equipment packages bring these functions together in one setup, so you configure a house around your flock size and automation level, not separate parts.
Key Benefits
- One coordinated system instead of separately managed feed, water, manure and climate routines
- A harvesting-ready configuration when easy bird access matters as much as raising efficiency
| System Component |
How It's Coordinated |
Model Availability |
| Cage structure |
Frame supports feeding, drinking, manure removal and climate control as one integrated system, not separate add-ons |
4100, 4140 |
| Feeding |
Feed delivery is arranged to run alongside the drinking line and manure cycle on the same service pass |
4100 and 4140 use different feeding arrangements; harvesting model uses feed pans for handling access |
| Drinking |
Water lines are integrated with the feeding arrangement so both service the same pass |
Built into 4100 and 4140 |
| Manure removal |
Manure removal is synced to the cage layout so cleaning doesn't interrupt feeding or drinking cycles |
Included in 4100 and 4140 |
| Environmental control |
Temperature, humidity and ventilation are remotely regulated together, coordinated with the feeding/drinking schedule to keep house conditions consistent |
4100 and 4140 |
| Bird harvesting |
Dedicated model swaps to feed-pan feeding so harvesting doesn't disturb the manure or climate systems |
Harvesting model only |

How to Select a Broiler Cage System
Automatic Harvesting and Between-Batch Cleaning
The retractable-floor harvesting system transfers broilers directly onto the conveyor belt and moves them to the rear cross-conveyor for outside collection, reducing manual catching and improving harvesting efficiency.
| Item |
Typical Reference |
| Harvesting Capacity |
Approx. 6,000 birds/hour |
| Operating Personnel |
Typically 1–2 operators for system monitoring and transfer coordination |
| Conveyor Speed |
Approx. 3 m/min, adjustable according to house layout |
| Suitable Bird Weight |
Approx. 1.8–2.5 kg/bird |
| Bird Transfer |
Retractable floor → longitudinal belt → cross-conveyor → outside collection |
After each batch, the floor panels can be retracted to provide easier access for washing and drying. Before the next flock, the conveyor should be cleared of feathers and manure, washed and disinfected, checked for belt tension and tracking, and test-run without birds.

Broiler Cage System FAQ
What is included in a broiler cage system?
The configuration depends on the selected model and project scope. Review cage structure, feeding, drinking, manure removal, environmental control and harvesting requirements together. Request an itemized proposal to confirm which equipment is included.
What is the difference between the 4100 and 4140 models?
The current product descriptions distinguish the 4100 by single-side feeding and catching access, while the 4140 provides double-sided feeding and catching access. Compare these arrangements against your house layout and operating workflow.
Is automatic harvesting available on every model?
A dedicated Automatic Broiler Harvesting Cage is listed in the range. Its retractable-floor transfer process should be specified separately when discussing your project.
Can a system be installed in an existing poultry house?
Suitability requires a review of the building dimensions, equipment access, utilities and existing environmental systems. Share a floor plan and photographs before selecting a configuration.
